Sargentito's
1st Mock Draft 1. Toronto
-- Andrea Bargnini
While I think that Toronto ultimately ends up dealing this pick, if they don't
all the buzz right now is about Bargnini and I think it'd be a good fit.
2. Chicago (from New York) -- Tyrus Thomas
Chicago has a lot of options, a lot of different ways to go on a young team
that is talented and doesn't have a lot of holes they really need to fill. Chicago
can afford to take a gamble on a young, talented big guy. I think it's a close
call between Aldridge and Thomas, but in the end, they go for the guy who is
more athletic in Thomas.
3. Charlotte -- Brandon Roy
With a solid young core in place already, and a few big guys who can play, Charlotte
has a lot of options. Personally I think they'll try to move down in the draft
and pick up either a few more picks or a veteran player. But, if they keep their
pick, then I think they disappoint me and take the guy I want Utah to end with
in Brandon Roy.
4. Portland -- Adam Morrison
The easiest pick so far, if Morrison slides this far Portland has to jump on
it. Morrison is a talent, brings a lot to the table, and can give Portland the
scoring they need. If Morrison isn't the pick, they go with Aldridge from Texas...
but bringing in Morrison not only helps increase local attention it is a decent
pick for the organization.
5. Atlanta -- LaMarcus Aldridge
Atlanta needs everything but swingmen... and luckily the best player left on
the board isn't a swingman.
6. Minnesota -- Rudy Gay
By pairing Gay with Garnett, they have a big, athletic compliment to KG and
with Ricky Davis and Marcus Banks, they have a very very solid starting 4. Another
pick that makes sense.
7. Boston -- Patrick O'Bryant
Teams are falling in love with his upside, and Boston has guys in Paul Pierce
and Sczerbiack that are more than adequate to play the 2 or 3. Delonte West
is an adequate option at the point. Boston has LaFrentz right now, but he's
not the best option in the NBA at the 5. Drafting O'Bryant allows them to take
their time developing him because they do have LaFrentz. If they decide to not
take LaFrentz, I think Randy Foye would be a good fit here as well.
8. Houston -- Shelden Williams
Bringing in a nice compliment to Yao in Williams makes Houston tough defensively
inside, and gives them the scoring they need with McGrady.
9. Golden State -- Rodney Carney
I think this pick gets moved. I think that Milwaukee is a very good option.
I wouldn't be surprised to see Golden State try to get Magloire adding more
talent to their underachieving team. But, since this is a mock draft, I have
to make a pick. Golden State takes about the best player available in Carney
who can act as a solid perimeter defender from day 1.
10. Seattle -- Randy Foye
Foye coming along allows Seattle to replace some of the scoring punch that they
lost when Flip Murray and Vlad Radmonovich left. Foye is athletic, can get to
the hole, and it isn't impossible that they can play Ridnour, Foye and Ray Allen
together, making them pretty tough to defend.
11. Orlando -- JJ Redick
This is a tough choice for Orlando, because they can either get the sharpshooter
they want, or they can take a big defensive guard that they can play alongside
Nelson. While taking Brewer would be a very good fit, I think Redick is the
pick here (which relieves me actually). Howard and Milicic are both big enough
that they can make up for JJ's perceived lack of defense.
12. New Orleans -- Ronnie Brewer
I wouldn't be surprised to see New Orleans try to move up and get a big guy
at the top of the draft. Thomas, Aldridge, O'Bryant and Shelden Williams are
all probably on New Orleans radar, however, outside of a PG New Orleans could
use just about anything. Adding Ronnie Brewer gives them a big 2 guard to pair
alongside Paul. I think this is the pick.
13. Philadelphia -- Rajon Rondo
Rondo is the PG with the most upside in the draft, and, with his size, he may
be able to play alongside AI. He's not as big as Williams, but I think that
he'd be a better fit.
14. Utah -- Cedric Simmons
So the Jazz go for the big they need instead of the guard they need. Simmons
is athletic, long and has a chance to see time right away. If he can work hard,
he can see nice minutes behind both Memo and Boozer, and, with the three of
them, and of course AK, that makes a pretty tough frontline.
15. New Orleans (from Milwaukee) -- Hilton Armstrong
Whichever big the Jazz don't take the pick before, New Orleans snags the later
to replace a very likely to depart PJ Brown.
16. Chicago -- Marcus Williams
Ideally Ronnie Brewer slips to them here, but that doesn't happen in this scenario.
Marcus Williams is the best player available and he can serve as a nice backup
for Hinrich.
17. Indiana -- Kyle Lowry
About the only thing that Indiana needs is depth. Lowry is about the best prospect
left, so they take him.
18. Washington -- Saer Sene
At this point the draft starts to becomes a crap shoot. Sene has the talent,
and potential upside that Washington takes the gamble.
19. Sacramento -- Sergio Rodriguez
Kings get the Latin White Chocolate
20. New York (from Denver through Toronto and New Jersey) -- Quincy Douby
Just what New York needs, another undersized 2 guard who likes to shoot the
ball.
21. Phoenix (from L.A. Lakers through Atlanta and Boston) -- Shannon Brown
Shannon Brown in Phoenix... a great fit.
22. New Jersey (from L.A. Clippers through Denver and Orlando) -- Jordan
Farmer
New Jersey takes Jason Kidd's eventual replacement...
23. New Jersey -- Alexander Johnson
...and also add an athletic big guy to their frontline
24. Memphis -- Shawne Williams
Memphis adds a hometown wing
25. Cleveland -- Mardy Collins
A big guard to "d" up alongside Lebron
26. L.A. Lakers (from Miami) -- Josh Boone
Getting size to come off of the bench
27. Phoenix -- Olexsiy Recherov
D'Antoni's European ties make him the best coach to take on a slight project
28. Dallas -- Maurice Ager
Chances are Dallas moves this pick for a later first round pick, since they're
pretty much loaded.
29. New York (from San Antonio) -- Aaron Gray
New York adds some size to put alongside Channing Frye
30. Portland (from Detroit through Utah) -- Guillermo Diaz
Adding a spectacular athlete to Morrison, Portland sure adds a lot of spice
to their team.

LostInVA
1 Raptors Andrea Bargnani PF
I'm sticking with this pick. I still think they should trade it, but
apparently they will not. There is still no clear idea if they are going to do
it, but I think they do.
2 Bulls LaMarcus Aldridge PF
There is a slightly better chance that this pick may be traded, but I think
they stay with it. Best scoring big man in the draft, which is exactly what
they need.
3 Bobcats Adam Morrison SF
I still think this is the perfect pick. Explosive scorer on a team that needs
offense, with plenty of defensive players to guard his back. What more could
you ask for.
4 Trailblazers Brandon Roy SG
Local boy makes it big. They pick up the preseason ROY despite falling from
1st pick to 4th. Sounds good.
5 Hawks Shelden Williams PF/C
I believe the rumor that Atlanta had a deal with Houston to get Williams for
Roy. But since Atlanta can't trade Roy, they have to pick Williams themself.
Don't ask, it's Atlanta.
6 Timberwolves Tyrus Thomas PF
A good inside complement for KG. Thomas switches to the 3 where he becomes a
good help defender and creative offensive weapon.
7 Celtics Rudy Gay SF
I had Boston looking for a PG, but if Gay fell this far, they would grab him.
8 Rockets Randy Foye SG
A good offensive/defensive combo guard to help take the pressure off of TMac.
9 Warriors Patrick O'Bryant C
The Warriors seem to be stacked in the backcourt, and have some good forwards.
This would be a good opportunity to grab the most developed true center in the
draft.
10 SuperSonics Ronnie Brewer PG/SG
Lots of rumors that this pick is traded. For the moment, I put a place sitter
in here that if someone makes a trade, it is to get him.
11 Magic J.J. Redick SG
The guards they really wanted disappeared, so they take JJ instead. The 10th
and 11th picks may be interchanged in order.
12 Hornets Cedric Simmons PF/C
A big man to help their defense out and provide some bench support.
13 76ers Marcus Williams PG
I really don't want Williams to drop this far, but that's just the way it
worked out. I couldn't find anyplace earlier for him to go.
14 Jazz Saer Sene C
Malone gets his man. All their guards were taken, leaving this as the default
answer, no matter what side of the JJ debate you were on.
15 Hornets Rodney Carney SG/SF
Picking up a solid defensive big man and an incredibly athletics swing man in
the same draft is a real boon for the Hornets. Possibly the winner of the
draft.
16 Bulls Thabo Sefolosha SG/SF
They already filled their need with the second pick, so Thabo would be a good
gamble to provide depth in the forward spot.
17 Pacers Rajon Rondo PG
Indiana really needs a change of pace at PG. Tinsley can't be relied on, and
don't be fooled by a big game by Johnson. Rondo is who they need.
18 Wizards Alexander Johnson PF
The Wizards are still looking for their frontcourt player that Kwame never
was. Johnson has been rising up the charts, so put him here.
19 Kings Sergio Rodríguez PG
The Kings actually have a solid starting line, and at this point they can take
a gamble. Sergio may be the explosive backup PG that Jackson used to be for
them.
20 Knicks Paul Davis PF/C
The Knicks need help everywhere, yet have depth everywhere too. With their
numerous guards, they take a big man.
21 Suns Mardy Collins PG
Insurance back-up point guard for Barbosa. Also has the height to swing to SG
or even SF in their system.
22 Nets Hilton Armstrong PF/C
Big man to bolster the weak front line.
23 Nets Jordan Farmar PG
Solid backup to Kidd. Possesses many of the same talents (and weaknesses).
24 Grizzlies Maurice Ager SG/SF
After this they all look like swing men to me
25 Cavaliers Shannon Brown SG
Good swing man
26 Lakers Rudy Fernández SG
Good swing man
27 Suns Quincy Douby PG/SG
Good swing man
28 Mavericks James White SG/SF
Good swing man
29 Knicks Guillermo Diaz PG/SG
Good swing man
30 Trailblazers Paul Millsap PF/C
A needed big man |

JazzHoops Mock draft We assigned each
team to a poster who wanted to participate in our mock draft.
1. Toronto-jazzoldtimer
Brandon Roy SG Washington
With the 1st pick in the 2006 NBA Draft, the Toronto Raptors select......
Brandon Roy SG Washington
We think Brandon is the player in the draft who will have the most impact on the
NBA in the future.
It's not conventional, most first picks are almost always centers and forwards.
We think Brandon will give us heart and soul in the backcourt to compliment our
already solid front line.
Brandon is a winner who can take a team on his back and carry it like no other
player in the draft.
Good luck, other GMs.
2. Chicago (from New York)-Sharz96
Tyrus Thomas PF LSU
And with the second pick of the 2006 NBA Draft, the Chicago Bulls select ...
Tyrus Thomas PF LSU
3. Charlotte-F1do
Adam Morrison SF Gonzaga
And with the third pick of the 2006 NBA Draft, the Charlotte Bobcats select ...
Adam Morrison SF Gonzaga
Jordan & the Bobcats are ecstatic that Morrison is still on the board as they
have been rumored to be one of the teams looking to trade up to secure him
4. Portland-JazzfanfromPortland
Rudy Gay SF UConn So.
Well, Roy and Morrison were reaches at #1 and 2 and Portland needs a SF
replacement for Miles. They pick Gay with the 4th pick
5. Atlanta-Mensch
Andrea Bargnani PF Italy
With the 5th pick, Atlanta selects Andrea Bargnani.
6. Minnesota-prairiefan
Lamarcus Aldridge
With the 6th pick, Minnesota selects Lamarcus Aldridge.
7. Boston-The Man 47
Marcus Williams 6-3 215 PG UConn Jr.
8. Houston-yell 42
Randy Foye - Villanova
With the 8th pick the Houston Rockets select...
from Villanova....
Standing at 6'3"....
Talented lead guard ... Has persevered through a rough upbringing (losing both
parents young) and shows great hunger and toughness because of it ... Excellent
one on one player ... Has a bag of tricks offensively with crossovers and AND1
type moves ... Uses change of direction well to get his defenders off balance
... Plays well in an open court game with great speed and body control ...
Handles the ball effortlessly RANDY FOYE
9. Golden State- HighPost
Patrick O'Bryant - Bradley
Realizing that Adonal Foyle was not the answer at C and Mike Dunleavy is not
really the answer at SF, Warriors must pick between a C or a SF. So the choice
came down to Patrick O'Bryant or Rodney Carney. Centers are always the hardest
player to get, so with the 9th pick in the draft the GS Warriors take
Patrick O'Bryant from Bradley.
10. Seattle-Paterooski
Sheldon Williams from Duke
11. Orlando-markmick
Ronnie BrewerOrlando,
realizing that there biggest need is at shooting guard, struggles to
determine whether JJ Redick or Ronnie Brewer would be the best pick. Even
thought JJ's shooting is very tempting they opt for Ronnie Brewer because of his
size, athletic ability, and how much less of a defensive liability he will be
then JJ.
GM Otis Smith in answer to why they chose Brewer - "We feel that Ronnie brings
to the table the same type of skills that Andre Igudala has brought to the
Sixers franchise. We feel that with his addition we have a very strong young
core of players that will keep this team very competitive for years to come."
Smith continues "We also chose Ronnie because we felt it would be gratifying to
cause the Utah Front Office and the folks at Jazzhoops.net to agonize over
choosing JJ or Saer Sene. The next bottle of Advil is on us guys."
12. New Orleans-Sargentito
Saer Sene, C, Senegal
And with the 12th pick in the 2006 NBA Draft, the Hornets select....
Odin Saer Sene, C, Senegal
Chris Paul has New Orleans set up to be a run and gun type team. What does every
team like this need? An athletic big man who can get up and down the court, play
a little defense, block a few shots and make the athletic play. His showing at
the Hoops summit last year really caught the attention of teams across the
country, and New Orleans' GM in particular. Byron Scott isn't thrilled with the
idea of this project, until he gets him to practice and can see him dominate.
New Orleans now has a solid core set up to run in about 3 years with Chris Paul,
David West and Saer Sene.... and the number 15 pick yet to come!
(plus I figured I'd give the Jazz fans one less choice... and now I know I'm the
most hated guy on the board)
13. Philadelphia-guest star
Cedric Simmons
With the 13th pick, the 76érs select Cedric Simmons.
With Webber aging, the 76'ers want to start developing a new front court big man
for the upcoming years, Simmons is their choice
14. Utah (determined by poll)
JJ Redick 6-5 190 SG Duke Sr.
The Jazz poll the guests at the Delta Center and they pick JJ Redick 6-5 190
SG from Duke. They also hand out free broken bobble head dolls of Sarge complete
with pink shirts.
15. New Orleans (from Milwaukee)-Sargentito
Rodney Carney, SF, Memphis.
New Orleans jumps in joy as they didn't want the over-rated JJ Reick (whom
New Orleans also refers to as Reick because he has no D) and with the 15th pick
in the 2006 NBA draft the New Orleans/Oklahoma City/Las Vegas Hornets rejoice as
their gamble paid off big time and select, from Memphis, the perfect wing
compliment to Chris Paul...
Rodney Carney, SF, Memphis.
Now watch out for the Hornets in another year or two... Chris Paul, David West,
Saer Sene and Rodney Carney. That is a young talented team.
With this manuever, the Hornets also announce that they are adding a touch of
pink to all their jerseys and hand out pink polos to every fan that says "New
Orleans Hornets, 2008 NBA Champions". With this lineup, the Hornets will be
contenders for years to come.
16. Chicago-Sharz96
Thabo Sefolosha
With the 16th pick, Chicago takes Thabo Sefolosha.
17. Indiana-KYJazzFan
Mardy Collins, 6'6" 205 SG / PG Temple
With the 17th pick, the Indiana Pacers select...
Mardy Collins, 6'6" 205 SG / PG Temple
After considering Hilton Armstrong to come in and provide a one/two punch with
O'Neal, the Pacers decide on Collins. Limited by a multitude of injuries last
season, Indiana takes a combo guard that can help them immediately backup two
positions and bring the defensive tenacity of Ron Artest without the head case
issues. Collins has a history of being a durable player who can also get to the
basket and finish or dish to the open man, setting up Peja and Tinsley for an
open jumper. Admittedly a surprise to go ahead of Farmar and Kentucky's Rajon
Rondo, Collins seems the team-oriented type that the Pacers covet after the Ron
Artest fiasco.
18. Washington-LostInVA
Alexander Johnson, 6'9" PF Florida State
A little bit of stage fright. Is this microphone on?
With the 18th pick, the Washington Generals err Wizards take:
Alexander Johnson, 6'9" PF Florida State
Washington clearly needs some better big men to help their big three perimeter
players. At this point it is a toss-up between Johnson and Armstrong. For some
reason, I'm not into Armstrong. He's too raw for a Senior, what's he been doing
the past four years? Johnson has been rising up the charts and leap-frogged
Armstrong into the spot.
19. Sacramento-soy sebazz
Rajon Rondo - Kentucky
With the 19th pick, the Sacramento Kings take:
From Kentucky So. Rajon Rondo
We think Rajon could and will help us big time....... he will let us rest some
(and be a back-up insurance too) Mike and play along side him too
I have to recognize that was a dificult choice with Shannon Brown being the
alternative........but i decide to go with Rajon giving him the edge the
ballhandling and PG potential.
20. New York (from Denver through Toronto and New Jersey)-Taxidriver
Shawne Williams from Memphis
Knicks "flabbergasted" by pick
In what was a surprising revelation, Isaiah Thomas admitted that he was
"flabbergasted" that he had a first round pick.
"I was watching the draft coverage on ESPN, and lo and behold...I saw the Knicks
on the clock. I thought we didn't have a first round pick until 2015." Thomas
was so surprised by this that he hadn't had any time to prepare for the actual
pick. "I didn't know what to do at first. I mean, I just learned we had a pick 5
minutes ago. I first called David Stern and told him we pick Sebastian Telfair.
He [Stern] didn't say anything for 15 seconds and then said 'Is this Ron Artest?'
I told him that it was indeed Isaiah and that I wanted Sebastian Telfair because
I thought he could bring all the good things that Stephon brings to this team.
It was at that point that Stern angrily told me that Sebastian Telfair was
drafted 'years ago' by Portland. Well, I was getting desperate. Our time was
almost up without making a pick. I then called Portland and asked if we could
trade the pick for Sebastian Telfair. They told me that they would throw in
Darius Miles and Zach Randolph if I gave them Frye and Nate Robinson. Stern was
even angrier when I called him back with that idea. He said the salaries don't
come close to working and something about me riding the short bus to school. I
didn't understand him and didn't have time to ask. We had 30 seconds left, so I
called my good friend TaxiDriver. He had my back."
With the 20th pick in the NBA draft, the New York Knicks select Shawne Williams
from Memphis.
They get an all-around wing player to compliment their good young draft class
last year. He will be a stat stuffer once he gets adjusted to the NBA.
Hopefully, only after the 2010 draft.
21. Phoenix (from L.A. Lakers through Atlanta and Boston)-Hawiianjazzfan
Shannon Brown
21st pick the Phoenix Suns surprisingly select...
SHANNON BROWN
" we are dancing in our heavily air-conditioned living rooms in phoenix!!!!!!
Bring the freakish athleticism BABY
22. New Jersey (from L.A. Clippers through Denver and Orlando)-jozef
Hilton Armstrong, 6-11 PF/C, Connecticut
With the 22nd pick, New Jersey Nets select Hilton Armstrong, 6-11 PF/C,
Connecticut.
23. New Jersey-jozef
Joel Freeland, 6-11 PF, England
With the 23rd pick, New Jersey Nets select Joel Freeland, 6-11 PF, England.
With 3 All-Stars in backcourt we have decided to address frontcourt positions to
give more help our emerging center Nenad Krstic. We believe both Hilton and Joel
will fit in Jason Kidd's uptempo style.
24. Memphis-67spit
Memphis Grizzlies select Jordan Farmar
After seeing Armstrong drafted just before them the decision becomes easy.
with the 24th pick, Memphis Grizzlies select Jordan Farmar.
With B-jax leaving town and Atkins likely to follow, The Grizz need a PG as much
or more than they need a rebounder/banger to play alongside Pau. Look for this
team to go for who's the best prospect at either spot.
25. Cleveland-Ody12
Kyle Lowry
The is a tough pick because Larry Hughes is now asking to be traded so do I
go with a SG or a PG. I think a PG is a bigger need for the Cavs. I narrowed my
choices to Sergio Rodriquez and Kyle Lowry.
With the 25th pick in the 2006 NBA draft the Cleveland Cavaliers take......
from Villanova Kyle Lowry......
26. L.A. Lakers (from Miami)-ML2001
Sergio Rodriguez
With the Laker GM enjoing his vacation in Italy playing his allowance of tennis,
and his contingency list already taken. The assistant GM takes the best player
available in Sergio Rodriguez a 6'-3" point guard from Spain. This will allow
Smush to return to his normal position backing up Kobe. Although not a great
fit, and not the tall point that Phil covets, he will fill in nicely in the
interm and become a valuble backup in the future.
27. Phoenix- Hawiianjazzfan
Vinicius Viera de Souza
Nooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Dang, Suns select Vinicius Viera de Souza.....
28. Dallas- JazzKitty
Maurice Ager
29. New York (from San Antonio)-Taxidriver
Oleskiy Pecherov
30. Portland (from Detroit through Utah)-JazzfanfromPortland
Mike Gansey
With the last pick in the first round, the Portland Trailblazers draft...Petey
Williams from Multnomah County Jail.
Or if you need a real pick, give them Mike Gansey. |

Jazzoldtimer
All I can say is hold on to your britches. If the draft comes down this way,
yes, I’ll be the next Jazz GM.(I’m not holding my breath)
I think this is the most uncertain draft ever in the history of the NBA. Here
goes.
1. Toronto Raptors.- Andrea Barngani. 7'1" 250 SF-PF-C -$$$$
Well, he’s still my number one, but......Bosh wants Aldridge, he’s his friend
and workout partner. We’ll see who’s running the show, as the Raptors signed
Bargnani’s old boss to a contract as asst. GM. I’d say forget value, draft the
best player, Brandon Roy. Oh, well.
2. Chicago Bulls.- Tyrus Thomas
- 6'9" 225 PF-SF-$$$$
Great motor, can play SF as was point before growth. Underrated SF and wing
skills. Super leaper and shot blocker. Solid pick, helps the Bulls immediately.
3. Charlotte Bobcats.- Brandon Roy
-6'6" 215 SG.-$$$$$
It’s not a co-incidence that MJ was the same height, and played the same
position. MJ understands if anybody does that every great team needs a SG or PG
who has the ball in his hands when crunch time comes. Dwyane Wade illustrated
that perfectly. MJ’s calling the shots.
4. Portland Trailblazers.-Adam Morrison-6'8" 198 SF-$$$$
Ok, the Trailblazers are in trouble, Morrison is a local favorite, he’s a great
scorer, perhaps the best in the draft. Good choice, but they’d be better off
with LaMarcus in the long run. I’m still worried about the diabetes and he’s not
even 200 lbs. That raises red flags, in my opinion. Good luck, Portland.
5. Atlanta Hawks.- Rumor has it.......Shelden Williams.
-6'9", 250. C-PF- $$$
Well, it’s better than another wing, but still doesn’t address the point guard
situation. I’m calling my shots here.......and Atlanta is officially the leader
in the clubhouse for the Greg Odom lottery. Don’t want to spoil their chances
with a decent PG and improved league play. Not this year. If they have a trade
in place with someone, ok.....but why pass up on better, taller players or need?
6. Minnesota Timberwolves.- LaMarcus Aldridge-6'11" 245 PF-C- $$$$
Great pick, helps the Pups back into the playoffs, and perhaps saves the
franchise from losing KG. Still, there are needs that should be addressed and
the Pups are not out of the woods yet.
7. Boston Celtics.- Marcus Williams
-6"3" 2something- $$$
Look, he’s not a great athlete. He’ll never win the slam dunk contest. What he
does do is run a team better than anyone else in the draft. Danny will have to
bribe all the Fast Food joints in Boston to keep a watch out for him coming,
keep him out of Jenny Craig somehow, but bottom line is the kid can play the
point. Back to the playoffs for the Celts.
8. Houston Rockets.-Rudy Gay
-6'8" 230-SF-$$$$
Wants to be a SG, well here’s his chance. Perhaps the best athlete and has
highest upside for anyone in the draft, the Rocket’s have to take a chance on
him duplicating TMac.
9. Golden State.-Patrick O’Bryant
- 7'0" 250- $$$
Do your business or get off the pot. This pick could kill the franchise or make
it. Can’t survive another JBC. The Warriors need a center, any center. Here he
is.
10. Seattle Supersonics- Randy Foye.- 6'3" 205-$$$$
Combo guard fits in beautifully with Ridnour and Allen. Simmons and Williams
have more value, but Supersonics will sign Wilcox and have two 7 footers in the
wing. Supersonics might wind up under the speed of sound, trade their pick, or
so the rumors stand. We’ll see.
11. Orlando Magic- Ronnie Brewer
- 6'7" 220 SG-$$$$
Does everything very well except look pretty on jump shot. Perfect compliment to
talented front line. Much better athletically than advertised. The kid’s a chip
off the old block.
12. New Orleans Hornets.- Alexander Johnson.6'9" 235.PF- $$$
Big guy keeps moving up the ladder. Despite being 23 his best years are ahead of
him. Part of the Thorpe team, that guy has to be doing something well. A mild
reach at this pick, but a great athlete, think Kenyon Martin without the warts.
13. Philly Sixers.-Rajon Rondo.
6'2" 180- PG- $$$
Iverson back to SG, Sixers go run and gun with two of the fastest, smallest
backcourt guys you ever saw. Rondo is freak athlete, suspect shot but with AI,
doesn’t matter. Great ballhandler, defender, perfect fit.
14. Utah Jazz.- JJ Redick
- 6'5 1/4" 190 SG-$$$$
Jazz dumfounded that Redick slips, picks the best shooter in years. If Redick
does slip, Jazz try and pick up second first rounder and pick Mahoumed Saer Sene.
Despite smoke screens, Jazz are high on the 7 footer. JJ should know that
alcohol and Salt Lake don’t mix, but the Jazz still like the kid. Sene is
getting lots of love as well.
15. New Orleans Hornets.- Rodney Carney-$$$
6'7" 205 SG-SF- Best wing left on the board.
New Orleans will try and trade pick. See above. Carney measured almost two
inches smaller, which hurts his SF stock, but he’s still a great athlete.
16. Chicago Bulls.-Thabo Sefalosha
-6'6" 210-$$$
Scotty Pippen clone, long, does everything well, climbing the draft.
17. Indiana Pacers.- Shannon Brown-6'3" 200 SG-$$$
Great athlete- explosive scorer, only weakness is handle.
18. Washington Bullets-Hilton Armstrong-6'11" 235 C-$$
Legit center with some athletic ability. Does he want to stay in the league for
more than a year or two? How badly?
19. Sacramento Kings.- Quincy Douby-6'3" 185 SG-$$$
shoots the lights out, athletic combo guard in the Bobby Jackson mold. Great
scorer.
20. New York Knicks.- Shawne Williams-6'9" 225 SF-$$
Memphis sophomore is dropping faster than a tourist’s trousers with the Tijuana
Quick Step, questions about his game and brain persist....Perfect pick for the
Knicks. Shawne...Shawn.....Still, the kid has lots of talent.
21. Phoenix Suns- Sergio Rodriguez-6'3" 185 PG- $$$$
Steal. Simply a steal. Suns have aging PG, pick up great prospect, flashy, uber
talented, loves to run and be the show. Look out Suns.
22. New Jersey Nets.-Mouhamed Saer Sene-7'0" 235 C-$$$
Still belongs in a Jazz uniform, long, raw, athletic, huge upside.
23. New Jersey Nets.-Maurice Ager
-6'5" 210 SG-$$
Shannon Brown is stealing some of his thunder, Maurice is still worth a gamble.
24. Memphis Grizzlies.-Jordan Famar. 6'2" 180- $$$
Super athletic point, good distributor. Damon’s days are numbered. Memphis sees
Jordan as salvation.
25.Cleveland Cavs.- Mardy Collins
-6'6" 220 PG-SG-$$
Cavs need point, Mardy is fine defensive guard and decent point who does the
little things.
26.LA Lakers- Kyle Lowry
-6'0" 200 PG -$$$
Better than the Lakers deserve. Have to feel sorry for anyone on the same team
as Kobe. I’m sure Kobe has to ok the pick, but Lowry is super explosive, tough,
gritty with a slightly weak outside shot. Still love the kid.
27. Phoenix Suns.- Guierrmo Diaz
- 6'2" 200 PG-SG-$$$
Combo guard with unreal hops, great shooter, with Suns run and gun, size isn’t
as big a drawback.
28. Dallas Mavericks-Marcus Vinicius-6'9" 230 SF-$$
Brazilian is talented and quick, good shooter. Should go earlier, but teams are
frightened of ‘Euros’.
29. New York Knicks- Josh Boone
6'10" 230PF-C- $
Perfect choice for Knicks. Wake him up when it’s over. Reportedly has promise at
this pick. Jazz cheer pick, slobber at chance for #1 in 2010.
30. Portland Trailblazers- Olexsiy Pecharov -6'11" 230 PF- $$
Ok, so he’s not Bargnani. He still destroyed Hilton A. in a workout. Why not?

Remember to pull up this draft after the real one, and get a good laugh. Anyone
who says he can do better.......Yeah. Ok. Go for it. |
