PODKOLZINE PULLS OUT OF DRAFT
Mammoth Russian center Pavel Podkolzine told NBA teams that he's
pulling out of the draft after he was unable to get a firm
commitment of where he would be selected.
Podkolzine also was recently diagnosed with having acromegaly, a
growth hormone secreting pituitary adenoma. The problem, doctors
informed him, could be corrected with minor surgery. |
Robinson Lobbies for Mailman

Opinions vary widely about just where the San Antonio Spurs
should do its shopping to improve the team next season, but
center David Robinson has a big name in mind to join Tim Duncan,
San Antonio's franchise player. |
How low will this guy go?
6/19
He stands 7-foot-4, maybe 7-5 — in that
stratosphere few in Utah, except maybe Mark Eaton, can know for
sure.
He is only 18 years old, with a world of the dreaded "u-word,"
upside, at his clown-sized feet. |
